Hope

GodPod team invite Maurice Glasman back for part 2 of a fascinating discussion on the importance of the local church and how it can be seen as the embodiment of love is a desecrated world.

This GodPod discussion was recorded as part of a lecture given by Prof. James K. A. Smith titled 'The Art of Hope: Imagining Another World in a World That Breaks Our Hearts'. This lecture was recorded as part of the Generous Orthodoxy Lecture Series – a collaboration between St Mellitus College and the McDonald Agape Foundation, enabled through a generous donation from the McDonald Agape Foundation. You can watch the lecture here.

What was the nature of Jesus’ resurrection, and how does it relate to our own hope for life after death? In fact, is such hope just for our own lives or for the whole of creation? Graham, Mike, and Jane discuss the bodily resurrection of Jesus and its affirmation of the goodness of physical matter, drawing out its implications for the way we live our lives now as well as our hope for the future. They also address the question of whether there is a hierarchy in heaven. Do some people get better mansions than others?
