Freedom

Freedom, Obedience, Joy – Part 1

This GodPod was recorded as part of a special event at St Mellitus College.
In this first part, Bishop Graham Tomlin is joined by Fr Raniero Cantalamessa, Preacher to the Papal Household and Professor Miroslav Volf, Founder and Director of Yale Center for Faith and Culture who each give a short talk to unpack and explore our theological understanding of Freedom, Obedience and Joy and its impact on faith, leadership and ministry.

In this GodPod, Graham and Jane are joined by guest speaker Jonathan Aitken to talk about prison, freedom and the justice system.

In this one, the home team discuss whether choice and free will continue after death. They also look at the idea of why we often talk about God doing something 'new'.

What do we understand by the 'unconditional love of God' for ourselves and for others? Does it affect how we live? And does the good news of Jesus Christ mean that everyone will ultimately be saved? [Recorded 23 April 2009]

Does God get what he wants all the time? How do his will and our freedom fit into the course of history, and how does prayer affect situations? Graham, Mike and Jane also look at the authority of the church as an institution and the canonicity of scripture.
